The night voyeur

During the 1970´s, Kohei Yoshiyuki sneaked into Tokyo parks during the night with a 35 mm camera and an infrared film. The parks where already known for having a secret night sex life, but no one had ever actually seen it (it was always dark....).
When you see how many spectators are around a couple, guided by sounds and perhaps a little sense of movement, you can feel unconfortable of their voyeurism. However, if you then realize that by looking at this photos you´re beeing a voyeur yourself, it becomes an awkward feeling.
I first saw this images in the Tate Modern early this year, in the exhibition Exposed. The reason I loved them even more is because attached to the images was the explanation of how the first exhibiton back in the 70´s was held in a totally dark gallery, and each visitor would be given a torch to walk around the space fetching for the images!! Fantastic!!
